I have an irrational fear of super long books; I absolutely love to read and tend to read stacks and stacks of books every year, but for some reason I'll look at the 1152 pages in small print Cryptonomicon and just shudder. Time to get through some of these longer texts.

LOL good for you! I usually pick some 'chunks' each year, but not because of their volume! But - and I guess that's your secret motivation as well ;) - because I want to have read some of those classics.

This year I hope to read Moby Dick. Last year I read The Golden Notebook, Orhan Pamuk's My Name is Red and a modern classic: The amazing adventures of Kavalier & Clay, by Michael Chabon.

I believe it was in 2007 that I read Don Quichot ;)
