This is my kind of challenge. I teach both literature and film, so I get all gushy when the opportunity to combine two of my passions presents itself. The idea is right there in the title - read a book and watch the movie; then it's simply a matter of writing up a review.The Levels:
* Matinee: one book/movie
* Double Feature: two books/movies
* Saturday Movie Marathon: four books/movies
* Film Festival: eight books/movies
* Festival Jury Member: ten books/movies
I'm going for the Saturday Movie Marathon level, but secretly hoping I get to Festival Jury Member. I'm not going to make a list I have to stick to, but I will throw up a few ideas I have.
- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick and Bladerunner
- Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis
- Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
- Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
- Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
- Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
- Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
COMPLETED: But I'm clearly not going to stop. :)
